Detailed Ratings Ease of Installation & Setup: Navigation of the download and installation are easy enough. There is nothing to physically download since the courses are web based, although Adobe Acrobat Reader is required to view the text lessons. You set up your login information when you purchase the product. Once you have logged in, you are taken to a main page that shows the three different E-Books, the audio lessons, and the mini-games. A simple click and the lessons are brought up in a web browser. Each audio file comes with two options, play or download. This makes it very easy to take the audio files and transfer them to a computer, a CD, or even an .mp3 player. If the files are played straight from the browser, however, it is not quite as high quality as the downloadable version. Features: Rocket Spanish is an E-book that teaches the Spanish language with different media, spanning text, audio lessons, games, and graphics to help the reader. There are three text E-books: Beginner, Advanced, and a Conversation Course Book. The Beginner book covers the Spanish Alphabet, pronunciation practices, and beginner grammar, while the Advanced Book covers different tenses, verb conjunctions, and the rules that govern word uses. A Bonus addition is the Conversation Course Book, which gives a breakdown of ways to initiate and carry on a conversation in Spanish. This product use not only written text, but pictures, graphs, and charts as well to help the user identify what is being learned. Each lesson comes with a vocabulary chart to show the words learned in the lesson in an easy to use English-Spanish layout. All of the charts and graphs will help immensely if you learn better by visual stimuli. Also, throughout the E-books, there are 20 of the most commonly used Spanish words in an English-Spanish translation chart. Every lesson has matching audio files, so you can listen while you read, which can be an incredibly helpful option if you learn better by hearing rather than reading. Rocket Spanish comes with an Interactive Audio Course, which is an interactive audio lesson that requires the user to speak along with the lesson. By hearing the correct way to speak Spanish, the reader can get a much better grasp of the language and pronunciation in the later chapters of the E-Book. There are two mini-games that can be downloaded directly to your computer, MegaVocab and MegaAudio. Both mini-games are PC and MAC compatible. MegaVocab shows the user an English word that the user must translate into Spanish. Each question gives the user four answers to choose from. Points are given for correct answers, while incorrect answers lower the users score. MegaAudio is a game that gives the player six pictures depicting different things learned in the E-books. The player then hears a word in Spanish and must choose which picture the word matches. Each picture has an English term so that the user knows exactly what the picture depicts. Both of these games can be customized for each lesson learned, so that the user can choose areas that they may have struggled with. Also, as a bonus, there is a Vocabulary Supplement that has 10 stories written in Spanish. Before each story, a vocabulary chart is given that shows some of the words used throughout the reading. It is the job of the reader to read and comprehend the story using the words given. At the end of the lesson, a quiz is given to judge how much of the story the reader managed to translate. By the end of the stories, the reader will have a much better grasp of Spanish as it is used in the real world. Features included in this product are amazing. Rocket Spanish covers every avenue of learning and combines them in a way that is easily accessible to anyone. Also the lifetime membership to the material is an added bonus. Ease of Use: The website is straightforward and getting started is simple. On the main page, no summary is given for each section, although it is fairly easy to figure out what each link is for. Each E-Book is divided into lessons that are easy to navigate and very user friendly. Audio files can be easily downloaded and are in .mp3 format, so they can be put on a CD and listened to at a later time. Content Quality: Rocket Spanish comes with everything you need to learn the Spanish Language. Whether you learn by reading, hearing, or interacting, it is all offered with these lessons. By getting the user involved with these different forms of teaching, it can really help keep them motivated and learning, while having a good time doing it. Each lesson comes packed with information that will teach pronunciations, grammar, and correct usage of the Spanish Language. Audio files that can be downloaded are a great way to hear Spanish pronunciation and the correct way to use the vocabulary that is learned in the text. The Good: Rocket Spanish is a great package at $99.95. Between the lessons and audio files, you could learn the Spanish language. By giving you the additional mini-games and Vocabulary Supplement, you are guaranteed to learn Spanish effectively. All of the E-books are very well written and over 100 pages each. Both mini-games are fun and will help to reinforce the lessons learned in the E-books. Downloadable audio files are around 15-25 minutes and the interactive audio lesson is a great way to hear the correct way to speak Spanish. Every feature of this product are well made and very effective. The Bad: If the audio files are played from the website, they lose some quality, although they are still clear and can be understood. There is a bonus upgrade option that can add to the basic package that include extra CD's, games and E-books, although for the price of an additional $200. I think that the lessons offered in the basic package are quite enough for the average person, so this bonus may not worth the extra cost unless you need the added instruction. The Bottom Line: Overall this product is a great way to learn Spanish. It includes many different teaching methods that help to maximize what is being taught. The E-books are high quality and the content is easy to approach and learn. Navigation is simple and Interactive Audio will have you speaking Spanish in no time. Both of the mini-games are a fun, easy way to identify the terms learned in the lessons and customizability of the games are an added bonus since you can focus on areas that you may have struggled with. Considering all of the material that this product comes with, I could spend many days and pages covering it all, but trust me this product is very cost efficient and well worth your time if you would like to learn Spanish quickly and effectively. Rocket Spanish is by far one of the best teaching tools to learn the Spanish Language.
