Detailed Ratings The Good: Learn French Program is a multiple book download that is great way for beginners to learn the French Language. There are 3 books that come with the download and each are easy to install, navigate, and learn from. Book one focuses on basic vocabulary, book two covers tenses and other forms along with additional vocabulary, and the third book is advanced vocabulary and cognates. Each book is divided into easy to read, short lessons that get increasingly more difficult as you progress. Also, the Learn French Program does a good job of walking the reader through the learning process by telling the correct way to read and speak the language.Mini-games are included that help with vocabulary. The French matching game has the user matching French terms to the English translations. It is easy to use and is a great way to learn vocabulary. The Memory Improvement Book gives techniques that can help you memorize terms and ideas. The Memory Game is another method of reaffirming the memorization techniques discussed in the Memory Improvement Book. All of the mini-games included are easy to use and does a good job of helping the user develop learning techniques that aid the e-books style. The Bad: Files are in multiple downloads rather than one large download. None of them are very big, ranging from about 2.2 kb to 5 MB, but when you have to download six separate zip files, it can become a bit tedious. Learn French is text only, no audio or pictures are included. This is fine is the user learns well by reading, but users that learn by hearing may have a tough time. The Roth Memory Course that is included did not work at all for me. All of the mini-games are simple, but not customizable. Users that are more advanced in French will not use them more than a couple of times. The Bottom Line: Overall, the Learn French Program is not a bad buy. For the price, the material is great, but the lack of audio and pictures leave something to be desired. Also, it would have been nice if the mini-games had more advanced material as well as the beginner material. There is a lot included in bundle, so the price of the E-book is wonderful. If you are looking for an alternative to some of the more expensive French language learning software out there, then this might be something that interests you.
