PianobyPattern from Albert Edge does a nice overall job of teaching patterns and chords. This site is great for those wanting steps narrated by a professional.

[DESCRIPTION FROM MANUFACTURERS WEB SITE]

I have developed an insanely controversial and effective technique that has turned the heads of hundreds.

And guess what. People are talking for a reason.

These visual "secret patterns" I have discovered will make you KICK yourself for not learning this sooner. I guarantee you will never even LOOK at a piano or keyboard the same way (I literally GUARANTEE it!).

You see, like a lot of other people, I'm a piano and keyboard playing addict.

I've feel like I've spent more hours behind a piano or keyboard than eating and sleeping combined, but I can honestly say my countless hours of work have paid off (for both me AND you).

Here's why:

Detailed Ratings

The Good Piano by Pattern is definitely a good way to increase your piano playing ability. The narrator truly is a great piano player, and he shows that to us quite a bit. The style of the lessons is a bit innovative when compared to the typical e-book. The lessons are in audio, so you learn and play as you listen to the narrator. Included as far as video, is a keyboard that lights up which keys to play.

If you are able to absorb a lot by listening rather than reading, then Piano by Pattern will definitely work well for you. The progression of the lessons is very well, even though they start a bit too fast, after a few of lessons he slows down and become extremely effective.
The Bad Even though the audio lessons are very nice and innovative, they were not quite enough for me. I would like to have an e-book and possibly supplement it with the audio. Video would be even better than audio though. The first few lessons seemed a bit too fast paced and advanced, but he did slow down after a few lessons. A few times I had to listen to the same section three or four times to truly absorb what was going on. Also, the quality of the audio was not the best.
The Bottom Line The Piano by Pattern program as a whole is pretty good, but there are some things that could be included and improved. The narrator's recordings could be more visual. The recorded sessions could have been done with better recording equipment and the final editing should have omitted the narrator's pauses and unnecessary comments. In all honesty, the price was a little too steep for what all is included.
