Detailed Ratings Features: Cheap Car Search is a website set up to help its members find auction websites and locations in the United States. While its central focus is helping users find automobiles, the website also offers links to other auction websites that sell other products, including real estate and antiques.The homepage of the website is well done and convincing. However, what is seemingly offered and what is actually sold are different. The website leads users to believe that they will have access to Cheap Car Searchs database of automobiles on the market. This is simply not the case. The members area, which is also well done, only offers external links to other auction websites, along with other contact information should the external auction not have a website. The website claims to have auction sources in each and every state. When a search is done on the right-hand column either by entering a zip code or choosing a state, Cheap Car Search lists auction locations with website, address, a description of the website, and a phone number. They also list when specific auctions takes place, which is a redeeming quality. Besides searching specific auctions according to state or zip code, the website does a nice job of separating its external links that connect to other auction websites. When possible, an icon is used and a logo from the corresponding website. Many of their links are connected to government auction, repo, and seized property sites, which can be accessed by doing a search using any online search engine without having to pay. These sites are repeated throughout each of the auction websites reviewed. On the left-hand column, a user can search federal auctions, seized boats and property, USDA (farm) auctions, HUD auctions, surplus auctions, and foreclosed and unclaimed property auctions. The website only provides links to these other auction websites and does not actually allow you to search any database on the Cheap Car Search website or server. Additionally, the website provides some other external resources, which are bonuses. These links will help you find financing for your auction needs, help you to price different products available, and help you determine the value of certain properties or automobiles. The website also offers three e-books to its users. These e-books were not created or published by Cheap Car Search, but were purchased from a third-party website for distribution. They are guides that mainly deal with eBay buying and auctioneering and do not help much in the way of automobile auctions. Note: The members area is very similar to StateAuctions.org. The external link descriptions are the same, as are the icons used to separate categories. Cheap Car Search has had a copyright since 2004 while StateAuctions.org was copyrighted in 2006. After analyzing the age of the domains according to Internet records, Cheap Car Search was established in 2004, while StateAuctions.org was established in 2005. Ease of Use: Cheap Car Search is easy to use. It is better than some of the other websites reviewed because a user does not have to visit another domain in order to search auctions. Everything is done on the Cheap Car Search website. Signing up is easy and straightforward. Once you have signed up, you will be sent an e-mail verification that will allow you to use your username and password to access the members area. Content Quality: The quality of the website is good. The content is well organized and a live search of auctions according to State is easy to do. Unlike other websites, Cheap Car Search offers website information, along with a description of each location that it has in its database. While you cannot search specific types of cars or properties according to location, you will be given some valuable information that will help you when making plans to attend a live auction event. The Good: The website is maintained and easy to navigate. The search by state or zip code is a nice feature that other websites do not offer, and the external links to other auction websites are easy to use and will help someone who is just starting out in the auction business. The Bad: The only con of Cheap Car Search is that it does not offer any specific searches of actual items for sale or on auction. The homepage makes one believe that this will be the case, when it is not. Instead, the members area gives you the locations and the contact information where a user can visit, sign up, or contact the persons responsible. Also, a user can learn more about how the auction process works. The Bottom Line: Cheap Car Search does offer more than other websites, but under-performs a couple others. The members area is easy to navigate and easy to use. Also, the auction search according to state is accurate and informative. Users will accomplish their goals if they pursue certain listings. Some listings of certain state auctions are detailed where a member should have no trouble finding an auction in their state. Additionally, visiting other auction websites to learn more about the process is quite valuable.

The member's area is organized and is great for those looking for local auctions. Like other websites, it offers external links to other government auction websites. It does not offer cars or properties in its own database, as users are led to believe from the homepage.
